Welcome 2014!

We usually start the new year by celebrating our anniversary. This year we celebrated our 9th! We had lunch at The Capitol Grille. My friend Rachel recommended it and we were not disappointed. Free champagne and dessert? Yes please! The food and service was amazing. We really need to go back soon.

I'm pretty sure we decided to go to Disney on the coldest day of the year on January 6th. My friend Paola, her mom and boyfriend were also there. By night time, the temperatures dropped so much! I had to buy Andrew an adult sweater to cover him up. It was a memorable day for sure! Brrrr

My bestie Candice came to Orlando to visit! We went to Islands of Adventure, because she suddenly became a huge Harry Potter nerd, hehehe. It was pretty chilly that day too, but we had lots of fun. Her visit was too short :(

Andrew got his first big boy haircut at the end of the month. I like it :) I think the grandparents were a little sad, since he doesn't look like a baby anymore. Turns out the lady that cut his hair, was also the one that gave him his very first haircut, but at a different salon... kind of cool :)

Tah-dah!!!

Christmas Time!

We took advantage of our annual Disney passes before our block out dates started. We loved all the magical holiday sights. Andrew loves lights, so I knew he would enjoy the Osborne Family Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios, aka MGM

The castle at Magic Kingdom looked so pretty!

We went over to my parents house on Christmas Eve, had dinner and opened our presents there. The next day we had everyone over at our place for Christmas dinner. It wasn't the yummiest this year, but we were all together, that's what counts right?

I took Andrew to the mall to get his first picture with Santa. He wasn't too interested, he mostly wanted to grab his beard, glasses and hat.

These are from Christmas morning at our house. Although he had a very concerned look on his face while opening presents, he really enjoyed it. He wanted to keep opening presents, he didn't really care what they were :)

More November fun

A few amazing local bloggers hosted The Crafty Social Orlando. I was so excited to go. We got an awesome swag bag with all kinds of pretty things. Check Amy's blog to check it out. We made 2 crafts. My favorite was the painted wooden bead necklace. I wish I would have gone with one of my friends. It was still fun though, and met a few new people.

We also had our family pictures taken this year by my talented friend Ashlee Hamon! We went to Disney's Boardwalk, but it rained that day :( She was still able to get some good shots. We still want to try again on a clear day.

Since Andrew turned 3, he no longer receives his therapies through Early Steps. He has to attend the preschool he qualifies at to continue getting his therapies, or we need to pay out of pocket. We are taking a break from everything right now and then decide what he needs. He still doesn't walk independently, chew or eat "normal" food or talk. He does know more than 30 signs though.

My parents hosted Thanksgiving at their place. I was really looking forward to finally having a big family holiday! It was a total of 7 of us. I made the cranberry sauce and a pumpkin carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, we weren't in the mood for pumpkin pie this year. We had a good time and had yummy food :)

Andrew turns 3!

November, another favorite month! One of my aunts from Mexico came over to visit, she stayed with my parents. Andrew finally met another family member besides my cousin, that was here a few months ago. She came right in time to celebrate Andrew's 3rd birthday, so it was very exciting!

Photos taken by Stacy Jinkins.

I did a woodland theme for Andrew's party this year. I bought some clip art from Little Apples Design on Etsy. I made the invite, a banner and some table decor. It all turned out very cute! The party was hosted at Grammy's Indoor Playground.

I did all the baking again this year and served Jimmy Johns and other snacks for lunch. The kids had a lot of fun, especially the birthday boy, he did not want to leave.

More fun facts about my little boy: he still loves hats and headbands. He loves shoes. He really loves bath time. He's finally interested in books, mostly looking at them, not really listening to us read them. A sheep on a certain page is his favorite.

At home, he likes to play with doors, opening and closing them... often locking us out. He likes to ride his little tractor that his grandparents gave him for his birthday. He still loves his ball popper toy. He's finally into his Playmobile farm set that he has. The pig is his favorite. He also likes those light toys that spin.

He is very sweet and doesn't like loud noises, but he's getting better about them. His favorite tv show used to be Baby Signing Time, then it got replaced with The Wiggles. Now he's only into Chuggington, ever since someone gave him a dvd for his birthday. He loves trees, leaves and flowers.

He's just generally a very happy, silly, friendly boy. And for that, I'm so grateful, especially after the rough times we have gone through. He may not sleep through the night yet (yawwwnn!) eat, walk or talk, but he is our little shaundy boo boo. Happy third birthday my baby! We all love you so much, you bring so many smiles to everyone around you.

October

My favorite month! We took a quick trip to the Tampa Aquarium with my mother in law. We had a nice time there. I brought Andrew's walker so he could use it there. After the aquarium, we had lunch then went to a weird mall in the area.

On my birthday, I went out to dinner with some close friends. We had a great time. I feel so fortunate to have such great friends in my life. We went to Cocina 214 where everything was delicious. The next day, I celebrated at my place with my family and made carnes asadas.

I have a week day annual pass to Disney World. I had been waiting for the weather to cool off a little before heading there with Andrew. It was still pretty hot, but we finally went. Andrew and I still had fun :)

We also did the traditional pumpkin patch. I participated in my first Zumbathon. And then bam! Halloween got here, ending the month with warm weather.

I took Andrew trick or treating around a small little neighborhood with some of his friends. He had fun, but then again, he's always so happy! So grateful that this year, he has been so easy going and happy.
