Yesterday

I had another one of my prenatal appointments yesterday morning. I got to listen to the heartbeat again. It's still an amazing feeling hearing that little sound :) I gained 1/2 lb this time. I also scheduled our first ultrasound for June 9th, where if the little baby cooperates, we'll be able to tell the sex. I can't wait!

Later that evening, I headed over to a Barnes and Nobles, where The Pioneer Woman was having a book signing. It started at 6pm, but I got there until 6:30. I knew there would be lots of people, but I still didn't expect to stand in line for almost 4 hours! It was still worth it :) I got my cook booked signed and of course this picture of us (Yes, I desperately need a haircut).

Oh, I also saw Katie, Chris and the Bean at the book signing. They blog over at Marriage Confessions, I wanted to go say hi and maybe even take a picture with them, but since I was by myself, I felt too shy... as it is, I had no idea what to even say to the pioneer woman, oh well!

Weekday things...

We finally have our flights and hotel booked to go to Kentucky in June. It's for a family reunion on Mike's side of the family... obviously, because mine would be in Mexico hehe. I'm excited! A new place to visit and new people to meet.

Since I sold my kit lens, I now have money to renew my passport. I already had one, but I have to get my last name changed. It sucks that I have to pay $75, plus the photos and shipping. I have everything filled out, I just need to go mail everything.

I've been pretty lucky at winning things lately. A gift card to Cheesecake Factory in December, some adorable robot cards from Paper Pudding through a blog giveaway and this past weekend, I won 3 prints from Riot Jane through another giveaway.

I helped my friend Isabelle bake for an event again. This time I made some mini chocolate cheesecakes and some cookies. I didn't try the cheesecakes, but the cookies were delicious! A little hard to make, but totally worth it. I love getting paid to bake :)

So sweet!

My work was featured at Vink Design's Blog. It means so much to me when I see my work featured by people that don't even know me... it's like, wow! someone really likes my work! I should continue making it :)

Go check out the sweet words she says about Sugar Village and while you're at it, check out her work as well, if you like my style, you'll LOVE hers.

Cool Mom Picks had a Valentine's day card contest. Today was the last day to enter, I finished up my designs yesterday with lot's of technical help from my friendly friend Candice. The designs are so kids color them in themselves. Here's my two entries:

Etsy Favorites ♥

I haven't shared with you more of my favorite Etsy stores. Today's shop belongs to Cori Dantini. Isn't her work lovely? I love how you can read through the vintage paper she uses to paint on. She also has a blog which you can visit right here. Enjoy!

Hi! My pick for today's post is Geninne's Art Store. I really admire her work and feel so inspired every time I visit her blog. I also love looking at pictures of her home and studio over at her flickr account. Besides her wonderful paintings, she has an amazing collection of hand carved stamps, check them out at her blog. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

You must really like someone's blog when...

you have dreams where you are friends with the authors. I just remembered I recently had a dream where I met Holly from Decor8. It was so cool, we were hanging out at some trendy event and later on, she even came to my house and met my parents. I was asking her for decorating advice on a budget... so typical of me!

I also had a dream a long time ago of Emily from The Black Apple. We were just driving around and talking, I think I asked her how she got started with her business or something like that. I really do wish I knew them in real life though, they are totally the kind of girls I would hang out with, they are both such an inspiration for me. Is this perhaps just a sign that I need more friends in real life? Hmmm...

I wanted to find something other than art prints for today's post. This is Magda's shop Craft Pudding and she makes the most wonderful hand carved stamps! She also has other little treasures, so check out her entire store. If you want to follow her latest work, this is her Craft Pudding blog and here's her Flickr. Enjoy!

Chelsea was so kind to feature me today on her new blog: Paper* Cakes Finds. Make sure to check it out, so many pretty finds indeed. Besides writing two very nice blogs, she also has an Etsy store, filled with cuteness of course! Thanks Chelsea!

Time for another one of my favorite Etsy artists! Her name is Michele Maule and she is awesome! No seriously, check out her store and her blog to find out more about her. She does a little bit of everything.

I'm so glad I'll be working soon, I want one of her original mixed media illustrations, either one with birds or one of her famous typewriters. I like how she delicately sews on some of her pieces, such a nice touch.

Today is...

I can't believe it's already been a year since I started this blog. A few highlights from this past year were graduating from UCF, opening Sugar Village and finally getting my drivers license. I also took a few trips. I went to Key West for spring break, Mexico for my cousins wedding, California for Thanksgiving and Miami for Art Basel. I feel like it was a great year! Thanks to everyone that made it happen, I feel truly grateful.

In love

(Images taken from Creature Comforts)

Isn't it beautiful? I'm loving those colors right now. Even though that room is for a 10 year old, I really wouldn't mind my room looking like that! See the rest of the pictures at Ez's blog Creature Comforts or at her Flickr.

Hey, look what I found

I found her blog on the Etsy forums today. I was browsing through her blog when I discovered one of my own little paintings. Check out her blog, it's filled with wonderfulness. Here's the entry with my Red Bird painting: Birds of a feather.

I've been tagged!

Alexis from Little Artwork, tagged me. So here are 7 random things about me:

* I grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico. I miss my family and food so much!
* I'm terrified of frogs and snakes. *shivers*
* Painting makes me happy. My professors at UCF would not be happy with the kind of stuff I ended up painting, hee hee hee
* I love art that depicts anthropomorphism
* I really enjoy sleeping, I could sleep anytime
* My favorite "genre" to read is chick lit
* I have never watched American Idol, and probably never will

Now it's my turn to tag. I choose the following ladies behind these neat blogs:

C is for Candy
My Wonderful Chaos
Paper Cakes
Stacey Winters
315 Thomas
Di Di Gal Decor

Here are the rules:
* Link to the person who tagged you
* Post the rules on your blog
* Write 7 random things about yourself
* Tag 7 people at the end of your post and link to them
* Let each person know they've been tagged
