The weekend has arrived

I am down to my final free weekends before I start my new job. I still need to go buy a few "work" outfits... maybe even some comfy shoes, I'm sure I'll be doing lots of walking and standing.

I finally finished a big painting I had started like a year ago, I think I'm going to put it in my bedroom. I haven't been painting for Sugar Village this week because of that. I did however, designed a shipping label for my shop. I will have an Etsy shop print for me, it's really cute!

Since we finished watching the Vicar of Dibley, we started watching another British TV series . This one is from the 90's and it's called "As Time Goes By", so far we really like it. I know I know, you would think we were 50 years old or something...

I'm currently reading Split: A Memoir of Divorce by Suzanne Finnamore. I've read all her other books and really enjoy the way she writes.

I made pizza dough for the first time today, for homemade pizza of course! Sorry no photos of that. Instead, here's a much more cheery picture of a cupcake, dessert courtesy of our friends that hung out with us today for dinner and card games. Have a good weekend everyone!

Almost midnight

We just finished watching Becoming Jane, I think it was alright. Earlier today, I made a few changes to this little blog. I made it three columns and also designed a new header. I'm quite pleased with the new header, I never knew it would be that easy to make, especially with the little knowledge of Photoshop that I have.

I have been applying to more jobs online, but it seems like half of them are scams. I wish the real ones would at least responded with a " thank you for your interest, but this job has already been fulfilled" or something, geez!

I started to feel depressed earlier today, but then I started working on my blog and it all went away. It also helped to find out, that a friend wants 6 more custom paintings. That's great news and it should keep me pretty busy for a few days.

I've been forgetting to keep track of which books I've been reading lately. Right now I'm reading One Fifth Avenue by Candace Bushnell and so far so good. I also finished The Beach House by Jane Green, I enjoyed that one very much. I have, as usual, about 4 books waiting to be read. I'll let you know which one I pick next. Happy

What a lovely week just went by. I was able to hang out with my friend Candice a few times. I went with her to a going away gathering at the Peacock Room. The guy that is leaving by the way, was pretty darn cute and funny.

I think I finished the design for my business card, I just have to mess with fonts in photoshop and add all my information. I also did 2 new paintings.

Hubby got back today. I made him mushroom risotto for dinner. I also went ahead and bought the Sex and the City movie on Tuesday, when it came out. I'll probably make him watch it with me this weekend.

I'm almost done reading Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner. I hate finishing a book I am really enjoying, I want it to last forever and ever.

Hey there sunshine!

It sure still feels like the middle of summer, and nothing like the almost fall it actually is. We'll be lucky to get a few chilly days in the winter. I hope California is chilly when we go there to spend thanksgiving with my parents. I have our tickets already, now I just need to find an affordable and nice place to board my little baby.

I've been really thinking about opening an Etsy store, I just have to figure out a few things, mostly have some funds to start it up. I received Moose by Stephanie Klein, from the library yesterday, I've waited forever, I'm so glad to be finally reading it.

Catching up

-I had a great time with my parents here, especially with my mommy, she was here for an extra week. I was very upset when she left.

-I was so eager to graduate, that now I realize I really don't know what I would like to do.

-The Olympics have been going on, I can't watch them, I don't have cable and my tv doesn't get NBC. I refuse to watch them online.

-I finished reading The Other Woman by Jane Green, first time I read something by her, I really enjoyed it and it doesn't even have good reviews. I'll have to get more from the library. Currently reading The Fortune Family by Laurie Horowitz, I still can't really get into it.

-My friend Paola, that moved back to Cancun, came to Orlando for a quick trip, we went to Disney's MGM and Animal Kingdom, it was fun.

-We've been playing lot's of boardgames lately, we bought a new one this weekend. We might learn how to play it today, I think I'll like it, it's called Princes of Florence.

-It hasn't stopped raining since yesterday, but today seems to be worst.

-My mom's birthday is in 2 days, I haven't sent her anything yet, I feel bad for always forgetting birthdays.

-I made shrimp fried rice today, here's a photo of it, just because.

Who the hell makes chocolate cake at 11pm?

We do of course! On another note, yesterday was my last day of my summer photo class. I can't believe it'll be the last photo class I'll ever take. I went to rent my cap and gown for graduation, I got a bit excited, it doesn't feel like it's going to happen. I really don't know what I'm going to do after graduation, it's so scary, I will be forced to be an adult, to grow up.

I also finished The Zygote Chronicles by Suzanne Finnamore. I started reading it before I went to Mexico and couldn't really get into it, even though it's a pretty small book. Anyway, I decided to give it another try and I'm glad I did, I really have felt or thought about the same things she talks about. When I finished that one I started Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin (one of my favorite authors). I don't think I like it as much as I liked her other ones, but we'll see when I finish it, I'm almost done with it.

The next book I want to read is Moose by Stephanie Klein. I loved her first one and can't wait to read this one.

Today I got to hang out with my friend Candice, who seems to be my only, true friend left. We had lunch at Cheesecake Factory, then walked around the mall, well mostly Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Gap, and Anthropologie. Then we headed over to Ikea, where I just bought 2 tiny plants with their white ceramic pots, the 2 sets for only $4! I hope they survive, they're pretty cute! I also bought a glass container for pasta. Oh and of course I fell in love with this there.

Well that is about all the updates I have for now. We are trying to plan a skiing vacation and I want to buy a new lens for my camera, still thinking about my bike too...

First Blog

Wow...this is my first "non myspace blog" and I have absolutely nothing interesting to say...I usually don't anyway. So yeah, let's see how this blogging experience goes, hopefully I'll post links to websites that I think are cool, artists, videos, my photos, meaningless rants, random thoughts, recipes, etc. I'm just way to lazy right now.

I checked out 5 chick lit books from the library yesterday ( The Man of my Dreams, The Secret Lives of Fortunate Wives, Pounding the Pavement, The Dog Walker and Serious Girls, which I don't think is chick lit), I can't decide which one to start first, they all have pretty good reviews on amazon, so I'll just have to start one...hmmm maybe the one with the prettiest cover? Yeah sounds good to me! So far this year I haven't read any chick lit yet, so let the reading begin, I wonder how many books I'll read this year? I think I did pretty good last year, I guess it's a good habit the hubbster rubbed off on me.
